I build custom Shopify storefronts that clients can actually manage.
Liquid, sections, metafields, and frontend code that works the way your store needs it to.

What I do
Shopify frontend work, scoped clearly and delivered as clean, maintainable code.
Theme customization
Modifying existing Shopify themes to match approved designs. This includes adjusting layout, typography, color, and component behavior without breaking theme update compatibility.
Custom sections and blocks
Building new Liquid sections and blocks that merchants can configure through the Shopify theme editor. Reusable, well-structured, and documented for long-term maintenance.
Metafields and metaobjects
Setting up structured content using Shopify metafields and metaobjects, then surfacing that data on the storefront through Liquid templates. Useful for specs, FAQs, size guides, and other product-level content.
Landing page builds
Turning design files into production-ready Shopify pages using sections, blocks, and custom Liquid. Built so the marketing team can duplicate and adjust them without developer involvement.
Storefront debugging and performance
Diagnosing and fixing frontend issues in Shopify themes: broken layouts, slow load times, JavaScript errors, and Liquid rendering problems. Focused on measurable improvements, not vague optimization.
How I work
A clear process so you always know where things stand, even across time zones.
Brief and scope
You share the design files, requirements, and any existing theme context. I review everything and confirm scope, timeline, and deliverables before any code is written.
Build
I build in a development theme so nothing touches your live store. You get daily or every-other-day progress updates, not silence until a big reveal.
Review
You review the work against the original design. I address feedback in focused rounds so revisions stay organized and nothing gets lost.
QA and handoff
I test across browsers and devices, check accessibility basics, and confirm everything works in the theme editor. Then I publish to your live theme and document anything the team needs to know.

About
I'm George Allen Donayre, a frontend developer focused on Shopify. I take approved designs and turn them into production-ready storefronts using Liquid, custom sections, metafields, and JavaScript.
I focus on clean, maintainable code that other developers can pick up without a walkthrough. My work is Shopify-specific: no page builders, no drag-and-drop editors for production themes.
Common questions
Answers to things clients usually ask before starting a project.
I work from approved designs. You provide Figma files, screenshots, or detailed references, and I handle the Shopify implementation. I don't do graphic design or branding, but I can advise on what's technically feasible within Shopify's theme architecture.
I work async. You'll get regular written progress updates with screenshots or preview links. We align on a communication schedule at the start so nothing stalls while waiting for responses.
Most projects are scoped per-deliverable with a fixed price based on complexity. For ongoing work, I also offer weekly retainer arrangements. Either way, scope and cost are agreed before any code is written.
I work part-time and take on a limited number of projects at once, which keeps turnaround times realistic. My schedule is flexible, and I make time for live overlap when a project needs it, like kickoff calls or review sessions. If you need someone full-time and embedded day to day, this setup won't be the right fit, but for scoped or ongoing part-time work, it's a good match.
Revisions are organized into focused rounds. After each build phase, you review against the original design and provide consolidated feedback. This keeps changes organized and avoids scope drift.
I work with any Shopify plan that supports Online Store 2.0 themes. That includes most modern themes, whether custom-built or based on Dawn, Debut, or third-party themes. I can also work on older themes if needed, though I'll flag any limitations upfront.
Send me a message with a brief description of what you need built. I'll review it, ask any follow-up questions, and send back a scope outline with timeline and pricing. No commitment required to start that conversation.
